Common appliance faults
Common symptoms can be grouped into water flow, temperature, drive, airflow and power. This structure helps prepare a report but does not replace measurements.
Safety rule: stop when there is smoke, sparking, a burning smell, electric-shock signs, an active leak, cracked hob glass or suspected gas. Disconnect only when it is safe to do so.
Water and drainage
- No inlet, slow drainage, retained water and leaks.
- Valves, kinks, filters and accessible containers are checked first.
- An active leak near power is a stop signal.
Temperature
- No heating, poor cooling, overheating and long cycles.
- Settings, airflow and ambient conditions matter.
- Heater, compressor and electronics measurements belong to a technician.
Movement, noise and airflow
- No spin, unusual knocks, poor suction and loud operation.
- Check balance, blockages and user-accessible items.
- Rubbing, a burning smell or violent vibration requires stopping.
