Diagnose an appliance fault
Safety rule: stop when there is smoke, sparking, a burning smell, electric-shock signs, an active leak, cracked hob glass or suspected gas. Disconnect only when it is safe to do so.

Do not reset immediately
Record the code and when it appeared. A reset can remove a useful clue.
Do not guess parts
The same symptom can have several causes. Replacing parts without measurements may not solve it.
