How to read appliance error codes
An error code is a controller clue, not an automatic part diagnosis. Meaning depends on brand, model family and programme stage.
Safety rule: stop when there is smoke, sparking, a burning smell, electric-shock signs, an active leak, cracked hob glass or suspected gas. Disconnect only when it is safe to do so.
Record the exact code
- Distinguish letters, numbers and flashing indicators.
- Photograph the display before resetting.
- Read the full model, variant and product number.
Connect code with symptom
- Record cycle stage, water amount, temperature and sounds.
- Check whether the code follows a specific action.
- Do not replace a part merely because the internet associates it with the code.
Verify the source
- Use the specific model manual first.
- Then use official manufacturer support.
- A technician should measure internal components when the code concerns them.
