Appliance warranty and consumer rights

Before a DIY attempt or paid service, check every source of cover. Manufacturer warranty and rights against the seller are separate bases.

Safety rule: stop when there is smoke, sparking, a burning smell, electric-shock signs, an active leak, cracked hob glass or suspected gas. Disconnect only when it is safe to do so.

Check the scope

  • Cover period, exclusions and required reporting route.
  • Whether travel, transport and diagnosis are covered.
  • Whether an authorised service network is required.

Preserve evidence

  • Proof of purchase or transaction confirmation.
  • Photo of the rating plate and error code.
  • Chronological symptom description and first occurrence date.

Do not risk losing cover

  • Do not open the cabinet before checking terms.
  • Do not remove labels, serial numbers or seals.
  • Request confirmation of the report and repair scope.
