How to check an appliance warranty
Before paying for repair, check manufacturer warranty, extra cover and seller responsibility. Terms and deadlines depend on country and contract.
Safety rule: stop when there is smoke, sparking, a burning smell, electric-shock signs, an active leak, cracked hob glass or suspected gas. Disconnect only when it is safe to do so.
Collect documents
- Proof of purchase, payment confirmation or order history.
- Warranty document and cover terms.
- Model, serial number and date the fault appeared.
Do not undermine a claim
- Do not open the cabinet or break seals.
- Do not order paid repair before checking the procedure if it may affect cover.
- Record symptom and code without risky attempts.
Provide specifics
- When the fault appeared and how often it returns.
- Which safe steps were tried.
